Course Description

This Course is designed for pre-medical/dental, pre-engineering, chemistry, and earth science students.  Concepts taught involve English to metric conversions, the importance of the periodic chart to everyday problems, thermochemistry, an introduction to ionic and covalent bonding, and modern physics as it relates to the chemical bond.  Lecture, demonstrations, and in some cases, team learning is used to emphasize topics  Upon successful completion, students should understand why chemistry is the fundamental science and be familiar with techniques for researching articles in the library pertaining to chemistry.
